Road traffic accidents in the UK are thankfully decreasing each year but unfortunately there are still far too many injuries occurring on our roads. Surveys show that many accidents happen as a result of a driver being distracted when driving. This comes as no surprise at all given there are so many things that can easily distract us when driving. For myself, one of the biggest distractions is our two boys arguing or fighting. If you’re a parent like myself then you’ve probably experienced your children distracting you when driving. Another big distraction I find is following our sat nav when driving somewhere new.
This week I came across some research by Accident Advice Helpline stating that ‘kids arguing’ and ‘kids fighting’ are both in the top 10 of the most common distractions when driving.
