Is it really possible to pick up an iconic sports car or even a supercar for less than $25,000? For anyone who thought it would be impossible to pilot a supercar without a lottery win, here are ten examples of why you couldn’t be further from the mark:
2008 CHEVROLET CORVETTE ZO6
First up, the Chevrolet Corvette Zo6 is arguably the most outstanding sports car of all time when it comes to value for money. Today, the 2008 model in decent condition can be picked up for less than $25,000. You can buy many cool accessories for a Chevrolet including Chevrolet car covers
Lotus is famous for eliminating unnecessary extras and focusing purely on performance. In terms of the Lotus Elise , newer models are still going to set you back $50,000 or so, but those from a couple of decades ago now sell for as little as $15,000.
A genuine Ferrari for less than $25,000? How about a truly legendary Ferrari for no more than about $12,000? Incredibly, a prime example of a Mondial with low mileage and everything fully operational can be picked up for between $10,000 and $15,000, without a great deal of looking.
FORD SHELBY GT350
It may not be quite as iconic as some of its predecessors, but it still brings more than 660 BHP to the table for no more than about $20,000. You’ll need to spend more than this to pick up a Shelby that’s been well looked after, but still – not bad for the price! Again, the beauty with Fords like Chevys is you can buy lots of parts and accessories easily including a nice Ford car cover.
ASTON MARTIN DB9
Riding around doing your very best James Bond impression in a DB9 isn’t nearly as expensive as you might think. While you’d struggle to pick up a seriously high-quality model for less than $40,000, there are nonetheless tons of DB9s on the market for as little as $25,000 these days.
Not only is the Ferrari 360 one of the most beautiful ever put out by the Italian carmaker, but it’s also depreciated in value massively over the years. To such an extent that models from around the year 2000 can now be picked up for less than $25,000 in decent condition.
2013 JAGUAR XK/XKR
Simply stunning in every way, the 2013 Jaguar XKR is the kind of bargain that will make everyone else think you’ve dropped on an enormous lottery win. Powerful, elegant and luxurious in the extreme, check the second-hand prices of these babies online and you’re in for one hell of a shock!
The Porsche 911 is one of the most accessible supercars in the world, with newer and older models alike available for ridiculously low prices. You can literally spend as little or as much as you want on a 911, without necessarily sacrificing enjoyment.
DE TOMASO PANTERA
Perhaps the single most consistent head-turner in the list, the De Tomaso Pantera is iconic to say the least. Despite the fact that little more than seven units were ever manufactured, it’s still possible to pick up models from the early seventies for $25,000.
Last but not least, you probably had a toy Ferrari 308 as a kid, assuming you were a child of the eighties. Locate a model with relatively high mileage these days and this angular masterpiece can be yours for $25,000 and up.
